I wanted to like this story. The characters had potential. The plot held my interest. I kept reading hoping I could like it, but halfway through I finally gave up. I am amazed at the number of books this author has had published, and the wonderful reviews he gets.Someone needs to tell him that each time a new person speaks he/she does so in a new paragraph. I had to keep going back and rereading to find out who was supposed to be talking. All of his characters say something one right after another in the same paragraph. It is very confusing and that is why it is one of the basic rules of writing.
He also has a very bad habit of repeating the same word over and over. That is also one of the main reasons I finally gave up on the story. After he used the words line shack 34 times in 8 pages, 5 times in one paragraph and 3 times in three consecutive sentences I wanted to send him a copy of Roget's Thesaurus, and that is when I put the book down and I am sorry to say, I'll not pick up another written by Larry Hill.

Recommend. Enjoyed reading both volumes.
Several errors in spelling. Needs a better review to make corrections. I would still RECOMMEND poo poo reading.
One of the best series I have read and will cxontinue buying the rest of the series. Hope he will write more
This reminded me of Max Brand or other Old western writers. Good book to put your self into a to think you the hero.
Mr. Hill has written several Westerns . I have read a few and found them to be well written and entertaining. This one is no exception. It is an old style western with a good story. The hero is likable and believable. There are editing and proofing issues, but they are not too distracting.
The first of this series is great. Spiraled down hill fast. It seems the author uses a template to publish with. Just change name of town and secondary characters then voilà new novel.
